Robins

Today two robins made themselves known to me. One was munching on a worm in a bush and as I started to walk by, he ran out in front of me for a good little while. He dropped half of his worm, hopefully he found it later. Then, another robin ran out in front of me. When he eventually flew into a tree, we both stared at each other for a while. Then chirped at me, flew a little distance away, and chirped some more. They could have stayed hidden or flown away from me but since they chose to let me see them and to stay close, I figure that they were saying hi. Perhaps they wanted something from me but I couldn't tell exactly what it was. Hopefully my "hearing" gets better so I can talk to them easier.

Finches and Bees

Today was a day for spotting finches and bees. I stood very still, longer than I usually do, longer than my ego wanted me to, and I finally saw that it was a finch rustling under a bush I was near. Once she was comfortable with me, she started calling to the other finches. Two boys stopped on nearby branches and one started talking back to her. They kept this up for a while. I had asked her to come out and meet me, and since she did, I thanked her. She seemed to say: "sure, no problem" in return.

Anytime I stopped around flowers, bumble bees were everywhere. They wouldn't show themselves if I walked by absent mindedly. They were the cute, fuzzy ones that are mostly black.
